Houston had the good fortune to be adopted by Donna on January 11, 2012.

Thank You, Donna, for giving our Houston such a wonderful new home!

Houston's Happy New Life: Many of you who have been following Houston’s journey know that he got his name from “Houston, we have a problem.” We’re happy to say that Houston’s name is no longer a representation of his life. Our family started off the year by adopting him on New Year’s Day. Since Houston has been living with us in Key Largo, he has gotten to experience many firsts, from learning how to climb stairs to barking at boats in the canal and even jetting around town running errands in a convertible. His new favorite thing to do is going for a ride in the boat, happily jumping off the dock onto the boat hoping for another ride. His first few days in his new life had some rough spots and he still has his moments of aggression, but with the help of a trainer and some hard work, we hope to get through this together. So far, however, he has been adjusting well and is already a member of the family. His personality and humor are a perfect match for us and we couldn’t be happier to give him a permanent home.

So many of you have contributed to Houston over the past year and have been following his progress with Coastal Poodle Rescue. We can’t thank you enough for the support that you provided him, especially for helping to put him through an intensive rehabilitation program to remove the scars of his former life. It has worked wonders for him so far. We would also like to thank Houston’s foster moms, Pam and Patti, who have provided him with so much love for the past year. Houston might have had a rough start, but with the help of Coastal Poodle Rescue and his foster moms, he was given a second chance and we can’t wait to experience the joy that he will bring our family for years to come.

Sweet William had the good fortune to be adopted by Lisa on December 19, 2011.

Lisa and family have renamed our Sweet William as Jack.

Thank You, Lisa, for giving our Sweet William such a wonderful new home!

Sweet William's Happy New Life: What a surprise it was to visit Petco and meet Sweet William, a.k.a. Jack! I quickly fell in love with this handsome guy who wanted to be loved. I was told he was 10-12 years old, but wouldn't have guessed it with his energy and enthusiasm. I walked him around the store on his leash; he was so well behaved and when I held him - well, I knew he was a great match. Jack, (he's called this since he does have some hearing loss and hears it better than Sweet William) has been a blessing and returns the love and affection 10-fold. It took two months for me to completely decide if this was a good decision and while deciding I did visit their website to see others who needed homes. I highly recommend Coastal Poodle Rescue to all who want to save a pup and give some love to special poodles. Their adoption process will ensure you are blessed with a good match.

Cherisse had the good fortune to be adopted by Sandra on November 13, 2011.

Sandra and family have renamed our Cherisse as Bella Cherisse.

Thank You, Sandra, for giving our Cherisse such a wonderful new home!

Cherisse's Happy New Life: I just wanted to thank everyone for helping me adopt my new love Bella. She is the most adorable little girl with such an awesome personality. We love going for walks and playing with all her toys. I want to thank Jan for taking such good care of Bella till she found me. I wish everyone would realize how wonderful it is to adopt a furry friend. There are so many of them out there that need good loving homes. Coastal Poodle Rescue are wonderful. I think the most important thing about adopting a pet is to be honest with yourself what your limitations are and what you are willing to work with. I just love my new furry friend Bella and look forward to many fun days with her. For us the transition period has gone smoothly we have bonded and Miss Bella has learned that if I leave the room I will be coming back. Thanks again to everyone at CPR!!

Licorice had the good fortune to be adopted by Janet on November 02, 2011.

Janet and family have renamed our Licorice as Jewel.

Thank You, Janet, for giving our Licorice such a wonderful new home!

Licorice's Happy New Life: My husband, Tom, and I lost our beloved 11 year-old poodle, Courage in late September. We, and Courage’s little sister, Juno, a Coastal poodle we adopted three years ago, miss her terribly. Although Courage is irreplaceable, we wanted to fill the void in our hearts with another Coastal poodle.

When I first spoke to Pam, a West Palm Beach volunteer, there wasn’t an appropriate match for our family. Then, a week later I saw “Licorice’s” picture on the CPR website. I knew Licorice was “the one.” Fortunately, the wonderful volunteers at CPR thought so too. We would like to give Pam, Peggy, Dana, Linda (Jewel’s foster mom), and Chris (who gave up a Saturday morning to deliver our new baby to us) heartfelt thanks for all their efforts to facilitate Jewel’s homecoming.

In Pam’s words, Jewel is truly the gem we expected her to be. Juno is a wonderful big sister. Thank you again, CPR!!

Janet and Tom Rappe

Miranda had the good fortune to be adopted by Yvonne on October 13, 2011.

Yvonne and family have renamed our Miranda as Molly.

Thank You, Yvonne, for giving our Miranda such a wonderful new home!

Miranda's Happy New Life: We lost our precious poodle of 12 years on October 3rd. At first, we were so heart sick that we were going to wait awhile before we even thought about getting another dog. But, the morning of the 4th, I found myself looking on the net for a dog to adopt. We had talked about adopting when something happened to our "Little Bit". I saw this precious little mixed poodle named Miranda. I filled out an adoption form that day and called Coastal Poodle Rescue and left my name and number. The next day, on the 5th, Marcella called from Coastal. She told me Miranda, whose real name was Molly, was definitely up for adoption and, after looking at my application, thought we would be a good match. She brought Molly over that afternoon and the rest is history. We fell in love with her and her with us, especially me, as I am her "mommie". Our hearts still break over our beloved poodle that we lost, but Molly has definitely filled a hole in our hearts. It is unbelievable how she has taken to us. She sleeps with me and curls up right beside me and that's where she stays all night. When I wake in the morning, she is lying there looking at me with those great big eyes. We go for walks in the morning and evening. I took her to the vet with me today to pick up Little Bit's ashes. They fell in love with her as she had to give them "kisses"! THANK YOU MARCELLA AND COASTAL POODLE!

Cole had the good fortune to be adopted by Lisa on October 03, 2011.

Lisa and family have renamed our Cole as Cooley.

Thank You, Lisa, for giving our Cole such a wonderful new home!

Cole's Happy New Life: My husband and I were asked by Coastal Poodle Rescue to foster Cole (now called Cooley; he's on the left side of the photo). He came to our home after being abandoned at a local animal shelter; put in the Gate Box, anonymously, no name or information. He was insecure and agitated. It didn't take long for him to be accepted into our dog pack (3 other labradoodles) and accepted by our 2 cats. But most of all, he found his way into our hearts. Our hope is that he never feels that insecurity again in his life. He is beautiful, smart and loving and our lives are better having him with us.

Miyu had the good fortune to be adopted by Brandy on September 08, 2011.

Brandy and family have renamed our Miyu as Daisy Belle.

Thank You, Brandy, for giving our Miyu such a wonderful new home!

Miyu's Happy New Life: Daisy came into rescue Feb 2009. As an 8 yr old diabetic requiring 2 insulin shots a day, her special needs were not something that most people want to take on. In fact, despite her incredible personality, perfect behavior and potty manners, and her gentleness with dogs, cats, kids, etc., Daisy remained in foster care for over 2.5 years. As she got older, we didn't know if she would ever be adopted. Then Brandy & Richard saw her video and fell in love with this wonderful girl. The rest is a fairy tale: they all are living happily ever after and have all the love they will ever need! Daisy Belle is one lucky little lady to have such a fantastic family to live with the rest of her life. And Brandy & Richard hit the jackpot with Daisy too!

He also loves to snuggle, and go for car rides. The girls, ages 8 and 6, are crazy about him. He learned to use the doggy door the first day, and is a great jumper. Raven's Happy New Life: Raven's name has been changed to Blackie and will answer to anything as long as it is a sweet tone of voice. He is a good little boy with a lot of energy. He learned the doggie door the first day, goes in and out with and without Maya. The dynamics between the two are such fun to watch. Little Jo had the good fortune to be adopted by Beverly on May 20, 2011.

Beverly and family have renamed our Little Jo as Daisy.

Thank You, Beverly, for giving our Little Jo such a wonderful new home!

Little Jo's Happy New Life: Dear Coastal Poodle Rescue, Thank you for taking the time to help our lovely new family addition, Little Jo. Without you we would have never found our little angel. She has brought a great deal of joy and fun into our household. Little Jo is thriving and enjoys lots of love and attention. Little Jo now lives in a "furever" home where she is thoroughly spoiled with tons of love and play, and is beginning to realize that contact with people is a very good thing. It has been a marvelous match. She is what we needed and, I think, we are what she needed. It has been a pleasure dealing with you. Y'all are such a wonderful organization. Bless you in all you do. Kindest Regards, Greg, Beverly, Asheton Rowell

Rodney had the good fortune to be adopted by Elfrieda on May 14, 2011.

Elfrieda and family have renamed our Rodney as Bobby.

Thank You, Elfrieda, for giving our Rodney such a wonderful new home!

Rodney's Happy New Life: Hi – my name is Bobby My new Mom and Dad tell me all the time what a good little boy I am. I’m 6 yrs. old and I may be small (7 lbs.) but I have a big heart. My new parents already have a Shih Tzu, Tasha; we get along quite well; except she doesn’t like to share her toys. My Mom said Tasha needs an attitude adjustment – sounds very serious. But, that’s OK; I’m not too interested in playing with toys all the time. I did play a little yesterday though; Tasha didn’t look too happy about my athletic abilities. because I could jump up on the couch with the toy (she can’t jump that high) and then from the couch to the hassock, to the armchair and back again. That was a lot of fun for me. I like to go out in the garden with my Mom; she’s loves to garden and is out there a lot. I just love the fresh air and lying in a sunny spot for a few minutes. I even went in the pool; well, not quite in it; but got to sit on the little boogie board. I wasn’t scared and Mom and Dad were so pleased – they said I can go in the water with them eventually; but for now we’re just doing things slowly. They don’t know if I can swim – so we will be finding that out. When we all wake up, we all have a routine – a little playtime on the bed (I can jump up there, but Tasha has to be lifted – she misses out on some fun I can tell you !). Then we all go for a walk (I did show off how well I walk on a leash) and then it’s breakfast. I have settled in very well with my new family and my forever home – It’s like I’ve been here all my life. I especially love dinner time; then later I get to cuddle up on Mom or Dad’s lap. I have a favorite spot to sleep at night, on the folded up quilt at the foot of their bed. If you’re thinking of getting a dog to join your family; remember you will be opening your heart to someone like me, who was just waiting for a new family to love.

Lee had the good fortune to be adopted by Ann on May 06, 2011.

Ann and family have renamed our Lee as Prince .

Thank You, Ann, for giving our Lee such a wonderful new home!

Lee's Happy New Life: Hi everyone my name is Prince. I have finally found my forever home! Coastal Poodle Rescue saved me but it took TOO LONG before I found Mommy and Daddy and they took me home with them. I knew it was for real and jumped into my Mommy's lap and wouldn't let her go. I still do that but she just loves it. As you can see I look like a poodle now since I had my new haircut. I never complain or cry because I want to make sure I stay here forever. I'm really being spoiled now but I love every minute of it. We go all over together in the car, the golf cart, on really long walks and to Mommy's friend's homes. Everyone says I'm a cutie. I just love living here and I'm always a good boy. I'll probably see you all at the picnic.

Note from his Mommy - Prince is a joy and we love him so much. He keeps us young with his playfulness and joy of life. Thank you so much Coastal Poodle Rescue for allowing him to come home with us. Thank you also to his foster folks for caring for him and giving us this wonderful dog.

Thank You, Jane, for giving our Duchess such a wonderful new home!

Duchess's Happy New Life: I just wanted to share my picture of Duchess taken after her first grooming session. She did very well and looks so cute and happy. She has adjusted well to living with me and I am adjusting to having her here as well. She seems very happy and content and has learned our schedule of getting up, eating, going for walks, playing and going to bed. She loves to run around the backyard exploring and she has found a new pasttime--stalking and chasing birds, squirrels and rabbits. She is a great little companion and I am so grateful that she came into my life! Thank you for all your help! Jane
